The OF US brand came to be in early 2015 as the form of a creative outlet for artist & designer, Zack Deus.
The name is rooted from a mix of prefixes such as 'de', which translates to 'of' in most latin based languages. The family name, 'Deus', is of a Portuguese origin and translates to 'God'. When broken in half, it becomes, 'De - Us', or essentially, 'Of-Us'.
It is the sister brand of SOSICO. & represents the creative balance between the two. Throughout the years of building a brand up from scratch with little to no idea of how to do things (correctly), it is learned in time that there is a small amount of sacrifice that one must make to stay on trend, or to shift ideas slightly so that something sells more effectively to the intended party.
As a designer, one must be able to bend - but not break. OF US represents the direct opposite. With no form of marketing structure, seasonally scheduled collections, or demographic to directly sell to - it does not flex to adhere to any trend. It's backwards nature & concept deems it solely exclusive to the individuals behind & around it.
It is created Of Us and exclusively For Us.
