We wrote and recorded this on a rainy day, parked in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee behind a commercial building on Woodland Drive in Coventry, RI. With a cheap condenser mic outfitted with a pop guard and plugged directly into my 2012 MacBook Pro via USB, we took turns recording our verses into Garage band. I took the files home later that day, did my best version of a mix & master, and then we put this out into the world.
ZDeus Lyrics:
This retrospect, I’ll take to death,
So don’t forget. I won’t forget.
Uneasy…
This retrospect, I’ll take to death,
So don’t forget. I won’t forget.
If you ever…
Played this shit for the imagination of dreamers,
Or dreamers imaginations of looking right through the schemas,
Past double doors of Gods courts, we’re all equal.
So the feeble minded can take a breath cause we’re all see-through.
Another night alone, Another day of sleeping.
It’s these rituals that start to breed criminals for the keeping.
And I admire my own,
From this seat in-front of screens I do admire my throne.
I’ve seen the world, but only viewed through a phone, And now these legs are slowly stretching, take me out of my zone.
Born and raised in a city of non-believers.
Nine to five is the thesis, (Rips these) daily lives into pieces.
Pardon the stereotype, A little cadence for this flagrant type of town that I write about.
Face the facts on the pages, I’ll page the facts to the A-list, The haters backs to the stages, To paint a bout.
So when we’re down and out; Hands and knees asking what’s this fucking pain about?
I’ll complain about the times, These pennies, nickels, and dimes.
Stuck in these unemployment lines while it’s raining out.
This retrospect, I’ll take to death,
So don’t forget. I won’t forget.
Uneasy…
This retrospect, I’ll take to death,
So don’t forget. I won’t forget.
Believe me…
